Preparing for a Disaster
Before you can help your neighbors, be sure you and your family are prepared and safe in a disaster. Develop a Family Disaster Plan, which should include;
- Escape and Meet-up Locations
- Out-of-state "Check-in" Contact
- One or more Disaster Supply Kits
- Mitigation of hazards around your home
- Know how to use a fire extinguisher
- Knowing how to shut-off your utilities
- Read the Prepare with CERT document and print out (and keep in an easy to reach place) the Help or OK sign
